Welcome to Photoreject, born out of my first attempts to enter my work in a gallery many years ago. If you read the title and are concerned if you are supposed to be here, fill out the brief, 200-page survey on page 72. Otherwise, please take a look around my blog posts of recent images of photography "tests" I am conducting as I branch out into slightly new photographic horizons. I will be explaining my thought processes behind the photographs and rambling on about this or that. Hope you enjoy!
It's an interesting moment to capture, the act of donning or doffing a mask. Did she bring her own props, or is that feline visage one of your own? (You know I don't care.) That all too familiar, distant, off camera gaze makes sense here, and the partial concealment of her face and feel of frozen movement add to the ambiguity and interest. Well lit too, although I look forward to hopefully seeing some new lighting schemes in the future. (I realize you're only following orders.) By the way, back when I was attending class, having the instructor refer to your work as being 'frought with ambiguity' was the highest compliment. What, jeff
Ignore what I said about using new schemes. It's actually cool to see a series of studies done with a consistant approach. Obviously, you can do a lot with one or two lights, so what's the rush?
6am: as good a time to ascend the holy mountain of sleep as any, jeff
